What is DOCX File?

Steps to open DOCX file
Method 1: Using Microsoft Word Online
1.Go to the official link of Office.com in a web browser:
If the recent Microsoft Office version is not installed on your computer, Microsoft recommends using the free Word Online application or Word on mobile to open and edit the documents.
2.Log in with the Microsoft account:
If you don’t have a Microsoft account, you can create your account on the official page.
3.Click on the Word icon:
It’s the blue sheet of paper with “W” on its left edge. You’ll find it in the row of icons near the top of the page.
4.Tap the “Upload” button and then on the “open” button:
It’s under the “More templates” option in the top-right area of the page.
5.Select the DOCX file and click on the “Open” command:
This uploads the DOCX file and then shows it in the free version of Microsoft Word. Besides, to open the document, you can also use Office Online to edit. To store the edited version to your computer when you are finished with the editing process, click on the File menu at the extreme top-left corner of the page.
Method 2: Using Google Drive on Computer
- Go to the official link of Google Drive in the web browser:
If you don’t sign in to the Google/Gmail, a Google Drive button, and then sign in or create an account now on Google Drive will convert the documents to the Google format, which will permit you to open the file. You can then download it in a different file format or edit it directly in Google Drive.
- Click on the New(+) button:

- Download Microsoft Word from the App Store:

Steps to convert DOCX to DOC File
- Open Microsoft Word 2007 or 2010 and then click on the “File” tab. Search to and open the file to convert it from the DOCX file to DOC file.
